Turn taking, sportsmanship, making new friends, handling disappointment, sharing, teamwork, empathy, negotiation skills, coordination skills, multitasking, and more.

How do you get your child interested in these important lessons? And how can they practice these skills? One answer is playing video games with friends.

The Gamers Club is a new social club at Spectrum Therapy Center, where video games are used as powerful tools to develop a multitude of skills. Children can build on their shared interests and experiences in games to make new connections with their peers. Members will aim to reach high scores, battle bosses, and save the day on the Nintendo Wii. Before playing any games, club members will need to vote, negotiate, and plan their activities for the day. Video games will include sports games, boards games, party games and more; all rated E, for everyone.
